  1. Hi James! My name is Trina, and I’m an RPCV from the DR 2008-2010. I was a CEDE Volunteer, not to be confused with CED. This put a big smile on my face remembering how nervous I was (and how hot!) when I first arrived in country. Is that giant hole in the sidewalk still there by Don Gregorio? At least two Trainees have fallen in, so warn your fellow PCTs. I lived there with Dona Juana, If you ever meet her, tell her I said hi! I hope you have fun on your Volunteer visit. Ask lots of questions, and ask to read Gringo Grita. That visit was more helpful than anything I learned in training. Obviously I’m exaggerating, but I learned so much on that trip.
Take care and stay safe. Wear your helmet and always call whereabouts!!

  2. Okay. So I was reading the date backworks, like you were writing in Spanish, and since moving forward read that you’ve already sworn in, and so forth. My bad. Anyways, I hope you’re having a great time and wearing your helmet!! 🙂

  3. James…..FANTASTICO! Everyone was engrossed, Annette (the one who set everything up) said you did such a great job and was impressed in general with everything you’ve done by your young age, etc. She also said you look Hispanic, but was surprised when I told her that we have no Hispanic heritage (at least biological ;>). Thank you soooo much for waiting the extra half hour and taking the time to talk with everyone. I’m not sure how much you could see from the kids expressions, but there were some gasps at the amount of electricity and the tarantulas, too. It was just great! You may or may not be receiving a package soon from everyone…..
